1.1 Powers and Duties of the Institution
According to Proclamation No. 161/2008, to amend the powers and duties of executive bodies, the Bureau has been given the following powers and duties;
1. Conduct and monitor the security situation of the Regional State; collect and analyze security information;
2. Collaborate with relevant bodies to ensure the safety, peace and security of the people of the region;
3. Design and implement a strategy for the management and the flow of modern security information in the Regional State;
4. Implement the decision of the Council of Government on the implementation of the special financial and budget management and managerial powers for the collection and administration of security information;
5. Communicate security with surrounding regions and concerned bodies and undertake activities to improve and strengthen the relations of border communities;
6. Collect information on the boundary of neighboring countries of the State concerned, work in cooperation with the concerned body in the prevention of conflict;
7. In collaboration with the relevant bodies, conduct research on the causes of conflict and provide recommendations and implementation strategies;
8. Carry out preventive measures to prevent conflicts between administrative units of the Regional State;
9. Work in collaboration with the relevant government bodies, religious institutions and any other body to promote peace and mutual respect and to prevent conflict;
10. Collaborates with relevant bodies to prevent conflicts and disputes by promoting peace and harmony among followers of religious and religious institutions operating in the Regional State;
11. Follow up the activity of anti-peace forces and thereby, study and implement mechanisms to resolve problems;
12. Cause peaceful resolution of disputes between management levels within the Regional State;
13. Supervise, follow up and coordinate the activities of the regional police and correctional police commissions;
14. Implement decisions made by the National Assembly on issues of border disputes relating to the identities of ethnicities in the various stages of administration of the Regional State and follow up the implementation there of;
15. Implement security forces, when ordered to be immediately caught in natural and man-made disasters;
16. Take precautionary measures to prevent harm to women and children in the event of a security breach or natural disaster;
17. Promote the peace and security of the community by building the capacity of the militia;
18. Organize the militia in a manner that promotes security;Facilitate conditions to cooperate with the public and other security forces as necessary;
19. Follow up and supervise the militia in the security and other public affairs for a long time, apart from its production;
20. Performs other duties that may help to accomplish its purpose.
